I had all these strange pieces of audio, from conversations w/ my friends, snippets of old medical films, warped acoustic noise, and chaotic synthesized recordings, and they all struck me a certain way...
I’ve always wanted to make my own music purposeful in luring the listener either further into themselves or conversely, further beyond themselves...
I guess I was looking for different and fresh ways to write songs because I was a bit too used to writing in a specific way and wanted to shake things up...
I see so much magic all the time, whether it be sleight of hand tricks, performers, disappearing acts, communication and mimicry from afar. It's such beautiful, cool, scary things. Magic isn't just for fairytales but for the guy who disappears from the neighbourhood when he's running from the cops...

Center stage were several instruments, including guitars, keyboards, synths, sequencers, and much more. Seamlessly, FKJ flowed between all of these inputs, performing in a unique/multi-faceted set.
Each song in the album chronicles a different part of my life during that time, and ultimately captured the beginning and end of my first queer relationship - which inspired many lyrics in this album...
A set so good it made me a fan of house music (which I thought was impossible).
