Wow, this was a good show.
I’ve been aware of Jeff Rosenstock’s work for some time with his popularity on Rate Your Music and features by other publications I’ve read. I’ve never actually listened to Rosenstock before tonight, though like other shows I’ve attended in the past (under the same circumstances), I knew I would enjoy the show.
The band came out to the song, ‘Chop, Suey!’ by System of a Down, setting the tone for the insane energy this show was about to bring. Most of the performance was punk/rock focused with Rosenstock performing hits from his critically acclaimed album, ‘HELLMODE.’
I think I saw at least 50 people go over the barricade crowd surfing during this performance. One individual was wearing a dress with a massive bright blue mohawk, having the time of their life. The crowd was filled with characters like this and the vibes were immaculate.
The stage background was a sight to behold, being an American flag with the stripes changed with rainbow colors representing the pride flag. Where the stars would be, they were replaced with the numbers 666 and a ring of weed leaves. This flag was massive, taking up the entire backdrop of the concert.
The entire band was fantastic, and each member added their own charm to the live performance. This was one of those great concerts, that won’t break the bank, and will be engaging as f***. Definitely go check out Jeff Rosenstock on this tour, you won’t regret it!
