ASTRXL.AWARDS is influenced mainly by new wave / eastern spiritual thought. The spiritual ideologies expressed within these religions + mindsets rely strongly on internal introspection as a source of (enlightenment + transcendence). One of the backing principles from astrxl.xyz originates from the ancient Chinese Daoist concept of 無為 (wúwéi). Which poorly translates to English as 'inaction' or 'effortless action.' In reality, '無為' reflects an internal state of flow & spontaneity, making an effort in the external world seem 'effortless.'

ASTRXL.AWARDS can award music of any genre with varying degrees of chaos while still having a sense of disorderly cohesion (almost effortlessly, in a sense). Our awards merge anything from sold-out mainstream arena touring talent to the underground Bandcamp oddities. To phrase it another way, think of when you hear a track and have a strong internal emotional response to it (but you don't know why); the feeling escapes symbols/signs & eludes our ability to account accurately. The experience of engaging with it provides a momentary lapse from our 'spot-light' conscious attention in which we slip into states of 'flow.'

In a world taken over by content with a 24-hour self-life, we hope our awards can inspire future creative endeavours long after their inception. Our explorations of media attempt to be as impartial as possible, viewing creativity from a third person (astrxl body) perspective taking on the role of the individuals ego.
