Tell us about Neupink.
NEUPINK
Neupink is my tiny little noise rock slash digital punk slash diy slash whatever-I-feel-like-doing project that aims to explore whatever intense soundscapes I feel like digging into that day in order to eventually give you, the listener, some form of tinnitus... I am obviously kidding with that last part.

You recently dropped the project, 'Melt Yourself Into the Flesh of Midnight.'
What inspired this release?
NEUPINK
This release was originally going to be way more different, it was at first inspired by alotta doom and stoner metal (electric wizard were a huge influence in the beginning) and I wanted it to be way more of a slow paced project until I realised that that idea kind of just, sucked and wasn't gonna work so I scrapped that draft entirely but I wanted to keep the harsh, heavy distortion aspect and so I kind of just fucked around with that until I ended up with this very harsh and moody record.
Shoutout to birdsfeardeath; their EP from this year was a huge inspiration for the album.

Do you design all your cover art?
NEUPINK
Yes!
I love doing my own artwork its something that I want to do as much as I possibly can; visuals images and colours and typography etc are all stuff that I'm really passionate about and absolutely fucking love doing.

Stylistically, why do you incorporate so many different genres / aesthetics into your music?
NEUPINK
I love exploring and being curious about all kinds of different sounds and genres and visuals/artstyles etc. The amount of shit people can do with sound and light to communicate an idea or strike an emotion has always fascinated the hell out of me and I find it to be very beautiful, it's like actual magic almost, I love studying that shit and I def want to get better and good at it + it's good fun.

What would you like listeners to take away from your music?
NEUPINK
I feel like that's one of those things that are up to the listener to kind of decide but if anything I hope it can be a source of positivity for them and that it makes them happy as much as it made me happy to make it.

Talk to us a bit about the project Seaweed Jesus.
NEUPINK
I have no idea why that one is as popular as it is but I'm grateful for that regardless, lol. That's as much as I wanna say about it.

Can you talk a bit about your creative process?
NEUPINK
For music usually it starts with me fucking around with the drums and/or a bass or a synth for a good amount of time and once I tap into a riff I really like and get into this incredible state of flow it kind of builds from there, I tend to focus alot on having everything be intensely layered with as much noise as possible (to a fault lol), coming up with a really satisfying hook or a riff is always like the best feeling for me but its also something that I want to get better at.
I also like having a visual like a movie on mute or a music video I really like or some art in the background, just something to look at to inspire me with cover art its kind of the same process essentially; the way I work is very 'fuck-around-and-find-out'.

What's next for NEUPINK?
NEUPINK
The next is kind of always scary to think about because nothing's warranted but I want to make as much music as I possibly can in my lifetime, I have a new LP coming out on the 18th which that and the previous really reminded me of how fun making music can and should be. It really inspires me to do more and learn more and get better at what I do and take much bigger artistic risks in the future.
