Tell us a bit about Knock2.
KNOCK2
My name is Richard and I'm from San Diego, California. I've been DJing since I was around 11 years old and fell in love with it, which brought me to wanting to learn to produce my own music. I started watching Youtube videos and learning from tutorials there and eventually started to discover my own sound and production design which brought me to where I am now.

You've had a crazy year, to say the least, selling out numerous shows, major festival appearances, new releases, and much more.
Tell us a bit about it.
KNOCK2
Yeah man it's been pretty insane, it's honestly a dream come true. To think about where I've come from and looking at where I am now, it almost doesn't feel real. The love I've received from my fans is unlike anything else and the energy they show up with to each show is what makes it all worth it.

Your recent set from 'Room202' was phenomenal on all fronts. I told the same thing to ISOxo regarding his recent set @ Nightream - both of your energies in live performances are some of the best I've ever seen in EDM!
Tell us about your 'Room202' set from Austin, Texas.
KNOCK2
That was the second time i've ever played Austin, but the first time bringing Room202 there. It was amazing to present my own brand on that big of a scale. I never thought I'd be able to sell out 2000 tickets this soon in my career and to be able to execute my vision through the production, sound, and energy was the best feeling ever.

Talk to us a bit about your Room202 EP.
KNOCK2
The Room202 EP was inspired by wanting to bring back the feeling and energy from the old electro house that I grew up on. I wanted to showcase my range as a writer and producer, curating genre bending moments. I feel like I really accomplished that with each of the tracks being unique and different.

What themes/narratives do you like to explore in your work?
KNOCK2
The themes I express in my music tend to be centered around love, togetherness, silly / happy feelings and lightheartedness. Positive energy and emotions are really important to me and I like to express these within the music I write.

Talk to us a bit about your approach to art direction.
KNOCK2
My approach to art direction is heavily inspired by streetwear and hiphop. SoCal and the West Coast also tend to inspire the look and feel of the culture around my brand which is important to me to represent.

Tell us a bit about your upcoming Red Rocks date with DJ Snake.
KNOCK2
I'm really excited to go back to Red Rocks, last time I was there I played earlier in the day and even then the energy was insane. So to come back again and play direct support to Snake who is one of my biggest idols is hella exciting.

Can you talk to us about how the genre of Trap has influenced your development as an artist?
KNOCK2
I love how swaggy trap music is, you can create some really unique grooves and energy from it. I like having the trap flavor with house music though. The attitude in the music just hits different.

Outside of music, what inspires your creative pursuits?
KNOCK2
A lot of my biggest inspiration definitely comes from my friendships and the people I surround myself with. Skating, fashion, and exercise also play a big part.

What's next for Knock2?
KNOCK2
Definitely more music, more curated shows that fit my brand and the growth I want to see, and always more unforgettable experiences.
