IT HELPS US OUT A TON
A lot of the work we do @ Ethereal is determined by a few select quality PR and MGMT agencies we like. We are never paid to write positive reviews or constrained to ask certain questions to artists, and ONLY feature s*** that resonates with us on a personal level (more info).
One of those agencies we like represents Militarie Gun. Militarie Gun is a band that has formed as somewhat of an underground super group incorporating members from bands including Drug Church, Modern Color, and Self Defense Family. I was able to link up with the band backstage before the show to chat & snap a few photos.
All the guys were super humble/kind and had the energy of people you want to be around. I spoke with member Waylon Trim at length about his experiences touring over the course of the last 7 months around The United States and Europe. There’s so much logistically behind the scenes that goes on with touring that people are unaware of.
Militarie Gun’s stage presence was that of confidence with amazing vocals from lead singer Ian Shelton. The performance took elements of Post-Hardcore, Emo, and Alt-Rock with a subtle messages around isolation, depression, and substance abuse.
Halfway through the set lead singer Ian Shelton took a moment to remember the life of Matthew Perry who had been suspected dead of suicide. The message of the band was to let the audience know - no one is alone. Every element of the band on stage was executing flawlessly and was great to see them at a venue like this - instead of a major festival stage.
More than just the show my brief interaction with the band backstage was something of positivity and good vibes. This band is on the come up already signed to major agencies and only trending up.
Stoked to see where Militarie Gun goes next.
^ Shoutout to this dude I met right before the set.
