Back-to-back nights covering shows and back-to-back unbelievable vocal performances. I knew Daniel Caesar's set would be interesting based on my correspondence with Live Nation beforehand. They told me Daniel's first three songs of the set would be performed under a massive curtain.

(The moment the curtain fell around Daniel during the start of his set - Captured by AMBIVALENCE)

Prior to this show, photographers were only allowed to capture images during those songs. Denver was the first date where that policy was changed to allow the first six songs. I was stoked, to say the least, about this change.

Little did I know the photos of Daniel under the curtain would be by far my favourites from the concert. The show's setting was angelic in nature, surrounded by the smoke of fog machines and heavenly diffused white light from LED boards. If that wasn't enough, Daniel had a live video feed of the concertgoers that was live fed to those LED boards (see below).

One of the most important things I look for at shows is the ability to create an environment that reflects the artist's self-actualized nature. You can build a stage environment with an artist of any size or scale - it doesn't have to be a multi-million dollar production. The Superpowers tour couldn't be a more textbook example of this stage environment setting. So many subtleties present themselves if you pay close attention to Daniel's lyrics.

Daniel's vocals were phenomenal, to no one's surprise. Throughout the set, you could hear audiences cheering at subtle vocal inflections when Daniel masterfully nails a difficult high note.

I can't say enough good things about this set and it was genuinely one of my favorite performances of the year.
